INVENTORS AND INVENTIONS
Descriere referat
Although I’m very fond of the human side of life I still have a litlle place in my heart for the real profile too, especially in inventions.Someone once said to me that discoveries are everybody’s everyday experience and somehow I agree with him-we live and learn which means we constantly discover.
By choosing this topyc I was able to talk about those men that during their lives put their genious in the human kind benefit and mention the less important discoveries.Everybody heard of the great inventors like Nobel and Edison but no one pays much gratitude to those who invented things like the zipper or the tea bags, these small things without which our lives wouldn’t be the same.
These prolific inventors have had a profound impact on modern life.Just imagine our lives without all the facilities we dispose nowadys like electricity
or the penicillin. We must admitt that every invention is a premiss to others:the electricity brought to the appearance of the lightball, the television set,the computer and many others;the discovery of penicillin impel the medicine to progress and it reached such a level that surgeries are made while the doctor is on one continent and the subject on an other, so we may consider these men as road openers, they have shown us the path all we have to do is make sure we keep to it.
Trough this work I wanted to pay an homage to the men that saw beyond limits, that faught and thought for a better life for them and their similars.
INTRODUCTION
Man is the definitive inventing animal and discovering animal, although through early history the two did not go together. Inventing on one hand – few & far between; discovering – usually by accident or out of necessity.
World discoveries have typically advanced a ‘cinch’ at a time. Every age adds its own – unceasing & incremental, which are not usually forgotten, nor successfully concealed. But few ages have seen world transforming inventions. Incremental ones are usually forgotten; successful ones never concealed.
Of course people have always been exploring. Ever since humans have an idea of their environment, they will have tried to see what was on the other side of that bush, that river, that mountain range, the horizon. However, little is known of these explorations, since no trace has been left of them, except perhaps in some ancient mythological tales. And in the fact that through times, man has spread out over almost every part of the world. It is now assumed that humans came from East Africa, and from there spread out over Asia and Europe. Australia and America were populated much later, although archaeologists are still debating the exact date. The last parts of the earth to be populated were New Zealand, Iceland and Greenland, between 800 and 1000 AD.
